Feb. 20/09 - CFL asks fans for Input on Rules
Were asking you to provide input to the committee. We want your ideas and suggestions. We cant promise the committee will accept them all. But we will make sure your ideas are shared with its members.
Simply send your suggestions for rule changes by clicking here or by emailing -- rules@cfl.ca -- by Friday, February 27. That will give us time to share them with the committee before it meets as part of CFL Congress, this year in Hamilton on March 3rd and 4th.
Why are we doing this, for the very first time? Well, when we say This is Our League, we dont mean its ours to run, and yours simply to watch. We mean the CFL truly belongs to all of us who care about it and support it. So we want to tap into your passion, your knowledge and your ideas." Mark Cohon (cfl.ca)
Feb. 3/09 - Riders GM Eric Tillman charged with Alleged Sexual Assault
This is painful beyond words because of my profound respect for this franchise and for other people, whom I love dearly, and who have been adversely impacted by this initial news. From day one, though, I have told the absolute truth. I will continue to do so, and, having tremendous faith in the process. I, understandably, would love to say more, but, out of respect to other individuals, whom I also respect, and those privacy issues, I think it's best to let the story tell itself. And, it will. Again, in the meantime, I am just so sorry for the good people of Saskatchewan, who love this team and their province dearly. As a society, though, we believe in the presumption of innocence, and mine will absolutely be established." Eric Tillman (Regina Leaderpost)

Joe Hadesbeck will be the master of ceremonies. The program will include roasts, toasts, tributes and dance music. There will be an open microphone so that fans and friends can express their appreciation to Hall. (The Leader-Post)
Dec. 14/08 - Riderprider.com Reviews Rod Pedersen's 'Green Magic'
Rod Pedersen takes you back to the 2007 Saskatchewan Roughriders championship season in his book, "Green Magic: Canada's Team Wins the 2007 Grey Cup." The book is an insiders recollection of the adrenaline-packed, intense and exciting season. From the hiring of a new front office to the eventual departure of Kent Austin, Pedersen's musings tug at the emotions of the reader - who relives the magic and the misery of the season through this publication.
The foreword by Kent Austin is an integral addition to the story as it reveals the type of character it takes for a professional football team to win a championship. This character is continually shown throughout the book as the Roughriders face abundant circumstances of adversity on their way to the Grey Cup.
As a fan, this publication provokes vivid recollections of the ups and downs of the championship season. In particular, the lightning game and western semi final were two memorable affairs that Pedersen revisits in his book.
Apart from the minor spelling mistakes and grammatical errors, this book is very thoughtfully put together compilation of all the events of the season. As an aside, I felt that the book lacked a personal storyline as I wanted to know more of what Rod felt as these events unfolded. However, as an objective exercise, Mr. Pedersen did an excellent job of relating the relevant information to the reader evoking, at times, emotional responses.
Rod unselfishly devoted his time and effort into producing a high quality publication that does justice for himself, the team and the CFL. The book provides great insight into the Saskatchewan Roughriders 2007 season and is a must-read for any rider fan this holiday season.

1966 Grey Cup Champions 40th Reunion
Members of the 1966 Saskatchewan Roughriders showed up in Regina for the 40th Anniversary Reunion of their Grey Cup winning team. The team won the first Grey Cup in Saskatchewan Roughriders history with great players like Ron Lancaster, George Reed, Hugh Campbell, and Ed McQuarters to name a few. The players, many of whom are hall of famers, could be heard reminiscing of the days of old, while signing autographs for the public on the practise field before the game. Fans were given the opportunity to meet the players on several occations throughout the weekend and many of the players were thankful for the support that riderpriders have given them over the years. Oct 28/05 - Trevis Smith Arrested
Riders starting middle linebacker, Trevis Smith, has been arrested on a Canada-wide Warrant and charged with one count of aggrevated sexual assault. Smith has been taken to B.C., the place where the incident supposedly occurred. It was also reported that Smith is HIV positive and that anyone who came in sexual contact with him should get checked for the virus. Smith has been enjoying one of his best seasons with the Roughies, but all of that has been overshadowed by this unfortunate incident.
Sept. 23/05 - It's Rabbit Season
A rabbit was the center of attraction when the Riders hosted Edmonton this year. The "waskilly wabbit" ran the length of the field several times and caused a few minute delay early in the first quarter of the game. After the game the rabbit turned down the Eskimos contract offer of 10000 carrots a season. The Eskies were trying to bolster their imaginary running game.
Aug. 27/05 - Goof the Gopher
And the Newest member of the Roughriders is....
